Armani camel coat
Luck be a lady, and most definitely I was that lady the day I spent browsing through a little vintage store in the center of Amsterdam finding this charm. Even though I am not the biggest fan of vintage shops anymore (I like the concept and firmly support the idea of recycling garments but find the long hunt for something I actually like a bit tedious), when I found this number stacked in the back of a rack I knew it would be a worthwile investment. I have no idea from which year this Armani piece is from, but it is a beautiful camel coloured coat made of cashmere material. Owning only one other black smart coat, this piece is a nice investment and after altering which I do with all my coats, would look great with a black cashmere jumper and a pair of Dicker boots.
Frankly, the neurotic in me plays up whenever I buy something I am not 100% sure of. Do I really need the coat? Non, I don’t. I have a very similar style in black wool that I use for smart occasions and the colour of camel is not something I implement into my outfits daily – nor weekly. However, it might be nice to try something new every once in a while and since I live in a rainy city in the Northern Hemisphere the idea of investing in a decent light Spring coat is a waste of money and time. So, this piece might actually be a Northern-European play on one; warm enough but with a shade that some might say is ‘spring proof.’
