Chanel Haute Couture 2016
Ecru, ivory, taupe, sand and a whole lot of other shades of beige were spotted on the runway for the Chanel Haute Couture 2016 Spring/Summer show. According to Karl Lagerfeld the colour palette serves as a direct reference to Coco Chanel, who as Mister Lagerfeld states was ‘the Queen of Beige.’ All these neutral shades worn ton-sur-ton make for a refined collection, and with the simple chignon and classic makeup the models were sporting the whole look was chic and sophisticated. The makeup used for the Haute Couture Spring show was Les Beiges foundation, the Eclat Lumiere and the Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadow for just a healthy hint of glow. All finished with the Rouge Coco Lipstick. Nothing too edgy, but refined and inspirational as always.
Makeup: The Vixen Look
Although the makeup was kept relatively simple, the details were seen on the eyes in the shape of long fluid lines around the whole eye area, enlarging the size of the eye. This optical effect gave the models the glamorous look of a vintage movie star; think of the makeup of Birgitte Bardot and Francoise Hardy back in the day.
