A.P.C. Ancolie Floral Top
Ever since I gathered a finite list of basic garments and collected (nearly) all of them, I have spent less time thinking about style and clothes. In the morning I know what I want to wear and I just take it out of my wardrobe. I finally dare say that I own the perfect coat, the striped shirts I adore and have the (in my opinion) perfect pair of everyday leather boots. En bref, there is not that much left to fantasise about or obsess upon, hence the short calm spell on my blog. Another reason is the amount of work stress and the approaching midterms, which frankly leaves me with very little to no time to think about different subjects rather than C++ and literary theory (what a combination, haha). Also, bonus option: I have been seeing my friends a lot recently and have even enjoyed a couple of nights out in Amsterdam.
Anyway, I have been wearing my turtleneck jumper and silk shirt on repeat ever since uni started again, and felt ready to experiment a little. In the end, the worst you can do is to get comfortable, isn’t it? The A.P.C. Ancolie top caught my eye ever since A.P.C. released it last summer, but I think the retail price was initially nearly 200 euros a pop. When I found it on Ebay for a steal, two weeks ago, I let out a little cheer and immediately purchased it. The top fits my budget (as I am still participating in the Five Piece French Wardrobe challenge) and the Ancolie top fits right in with the other garments of my wardrobe. It is a beautiful piece, that is simultaneously an eye catcher and a comfortable, well-cut everyday garment. It feels great knowing my go-to brands, so that even when buying something a little bit less basic it is easy to stay true to my preferences.
